Please read carefully before beginning your data submission.
You will need to sign in or create a Google Account in order to submit data. It only takes a few seconds and allows greater functionality of the data submission forms and collection process.
We estimate that the original submission may take 30 to 45 mins to complete. Updates to your dog’s data should only take minutes.
Currently there is no ability to “save” and return to your data, thus you will need to please be prepared to complete the submission process in one sitting. The forms are designed to streamline the process as much as possible through drop down and checkbox data forms for the most part, so fear not, it will be easy!
As a preview, you will be asked the following information, thus please have available to you when beginning your submission:
- Basic info about you and your dog, eg name and contact details.
- Your dog’s breed and weight at the time of diagnosis.
- The original test method used to diagnosis your dog and the extent of disease at the time of original diagnosis. For example, the size and location of the tumor. The form will walk you through the possible staging options.
- The original treatment plan, e.g. the drugs administered and dosage, any surgical procedures, etc.
- Any changes to your dog’s diet or additional supplements given to your dog following diagnosis.
Importantly, you can submit data for your dog even if the dog has completed treatment or the treatment has been stopped for any reason, including passing of the dog. That data is still important.
The submission process is separate for the original data outlined above and subsequent updates to your dog’s treatment or condition. So if you dog is currently undergoing treatment it is imperative that you return and submit an “update” for any change in treatment or condition. The system will send email reminders to please return and submit an update, but don’t wait for a reminder, it is simpler to submit information when its recent.
We understand that it may be difficult to follow up and report bad news, but please recognize that all outcome information, whether it be positive or not, is critical to increasing the state of knowledge of TCC and treatment outcomes. Know that making these submissions can be one way to remembering our beloved friends and allowing their experiences to potentially help others.
The value to any data collection and analysis effort is a direct result of the data quality. Thus, please be as complete and accurate in your responses as possible. Where possible, ranges to certain responses are possible, please select the most accurate response, but where a more precise response is requested and perhaps not known; please check your vet invoices and reports, or call your vet.
Thank you for your participation in this effort. We will post on the website updates and news as we progress with the project. Please use the “Contact Us” button if you have questions.
Thank you,
The Project TCC Team
